Foundation

The « Fondation Ecole réformée de Fribourg » was established in 2005 following the dissolution of the Ecole libre publique de Fribourg (ELPF), which has been found in 1936.

The Foundation is a non-profit organisation of public utility status, as recognised by the State Council. As such, it’s a separate legal entity that holds assets and uses them solely for specific purposes, defined in advance in its articles of association. It is non-profit, its managment is disinterested, and it does not benefit a restricted circle of individuals in any way. It is places under the supervision of the competent authority for foundations: the State of Fribourg.

Consequently, the Foundation pursues exclusively non-profit activities in the public interest and aims to support educational, cultural or social cause.

The Fondation École réformée de Fribourg is responsable, in particular, for the organisation and managment of the École Privée Moléson (EPM) and for providing after-school care for the EPM and the German Regional School (ERAF).

The Board of Trustees of the Fondation École réformée de Fribourg is a voluntary board and is appointed by the Paris Council of the Reformed Church of Fribourg.

The Board:

• Decides on the aims and direction of the École Privée Moléson          epmfr.ch/decouvrir-lecole/pourquoi-choisir-ecole-privee-moleson/
• Decides on the aims and direction of the after-school care                  epmfr.ch/decouvrir-lecole/offre-de-prestations-extrascolaires/
• Adopts the school regulations
• Decides on the budget and approves the account of both organisations
• Sets the amount of school fees and other contributions
• Appoints the Headteacher of the EPM and the after-schoool care service

Vision :

The Foudation’s priority is to ensure the long-term future of the École Privée Moléson in order to provide high-quality education with small class sizes from 1H to 8H, following the Plan d’études romand, including personalised and multilingual teaching (French – German – English), which is unique in the Canton. Its non-profit activities take the form of educational, cultural and social projects. It’s also committed to offering parents high-quality after-school care to help them better balance their professional and family lives. Creative, artistic and sports workshops complement the after-school care provision.

To achieve these goals, the Foundation is exploring plans for a new school building to provide more pleasant and spacious facilities and to optimise coordination between the school and the after-school care programme.
